Roy Randall Ayers, age 68 of 36 Sneaking Creek Lane, Asheville, NC 28805, passed away early on the morning of Monday, August 19, 2024.
Randy was born on July 6, 1956, in Burnsville, NC. His family moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1959. After his father retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1983, his family moved to NC where he lived until his passing.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Roy Edward Ayers, and his mother, Geneva Fender Ayers. He is survived by his twin sisters: Kimberly Nelon (Terry) and Melanie Light (Glenn); as well as his nephews, Corey Light and Cameron Light.
Randy was a faithful steward at Asheville Family Church. He was a passionate fan of all the Cleveland Sports teams (Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers). He was an avid NASCAR and NHRA fan, with Ford being his rooting choice. He was also very artistic, showing his skill in drawing and model-building. Randy had just recently retired from East Coast Oxygen in Woodfin, NC.
In May 1999, after the passing of his father, Randy stayed at home to take care of his mother. He did this until her passing in November 2016. Randy was a true believer whose faith was a major part of his life. If Randy said he was going to pray for you, you can know that he did pray for you.
A memorial service is being held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Asheville Family Church at 530 New Leicester Highway, Asheville, NC 28806. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service for visitation.
