Chester Hedrick, age 86, of the Bald Creek Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, at Angel Medical Center in Franklin. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Edd and Mary Rosetta Sparks Hedrick.
Chester proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He then worked doing maintenance for Pillowtex. He loved to tinker on anything with a small engine, lawn mowers and weedeaters. In his spare time, he used his talents as an avid woodworker. More importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and cherished every minute he had with them.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Barbara Jean Tipton Hedrick; his two sons: Kevin Hedrick and wife, Tammy, of Spruce Pine, and Jeffery Hedrick of Hendersonville; grandchildren: John and Abby Hedrick, both of Spruce Pine; and sister, Rhonelda Laws of Burnsville.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date and will be announced.
