Plant Swap

plant-swap-2025

From 4-6 pm on Wednesday, May 21, Dig In! Yancey Community Garden invites everyone to a Plant Swap at Homeplace. A plant swap is an opportunity to trade plant starts, cuttings, or seeds for free with other plant lovers.

Dig In will bring flowers and extra transplants of summer crops like melons, tomatoes, and squash from their community garden. Vegetable starts, houseplants, ornamental plants, and seeds are all welcome at the plant swap.

Since 2010, Dig In has been dedicated to building food security in Yancey County through generosity. The two acre community garden on Blankenship Creek Rd builds on the long-standing traditions in these mountains of sharing the work and the abundance of the land. Everything grown at the garden is shared free of charge with the community through programs like Harvest Share. Dig In also supports a variety of other community food projects throughout the county to bring people together around growing and sharing food.
