Penland School Cancels Fireworks Due to Fire Danger

Penland School of Craft is sorry to announce that we will not be hosting a parade and fireworks in July. The elevated fire danger resulting from the massive amount of woody debris left by the storm makes staging a large fireworks display too risky for our campus and our neighbors. We really don’t want to set the woods on fire! Without fireworks as the main attraction, we have also decided not to stage a parade.

Penland still hope to see lots of neighbors this summer at gallery openings, end-of-session auctions, show-and-tell displays, instructor slide nights, and resident artist open houses. And everyone is always welcome to visit the beautiful Penland Gallery, get a snack and a drink at the coffee house, and check out art supplies and Penland merchandise at the supply store. You can find information about all of this at penland.org.
