Robert Floyd Young, age 89 of Black Mountain, NC, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the NC State Veteran Home.
Born on October 31, 1935, he was the son of the late Floyd and Cordie English Young. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Young; brother, Carroll Young; sisters: Betty Effler, and Doris Jones; and grandson, Robert David Young.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his country for six years. Robert enjoyed being outdoors and loved hunting. His memory will forever be cherished by those he leaves behind.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Robert Young Jr., Darrell Young, and Tracy Young; daughter, Leslie Nicole Gwyn; sisters: Becky Young, Jackie Cornett, Thelma Pitman, and Phyllis Townsend; and stepdaughter, Debbie Young.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Hughes Cemetery off Roaring Creek Road in Newland, NC.
The family would like to say special thanks to the NC State Veterans Home and Nurse Marie for the respect, honor, and loving care they gave to Robert during his time there.
