On Friday, May 16, 2025, Callie Capps and Dylan Dahlberg represented Mountain Heritage High School at the NCHSAA State Track and Field Meet. In the discus event, Callie made the final round and finished in fifth place in the 1A division. Dylan won third place in the 400 meters event and fifth place in the 200 meters event. He had previously broken two Mountain Heritage High School records at the regional event to qualify for the state championship. Both of these athletes did an outstanding job representing MHHS and Yancey County.
