Coy Lee Autrey, age 67, of the Pensacola Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 30th, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late John Burdette Autrey and Carrie Aletha Riddle Autrey. He was preceded in death as well by a sister, Deborah Autrey; mother-in-law, Ethel Robinson; brother-in-law, Eljay Hollifield; and special friend, Robert Ogle.
Coy was a rock mason by trade, but also loved tinkering and mechanic on everything. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed digging ginseng, gardening, and bear hunting. He always taught his only son that honesty is the best advice. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Gail Hollifield Autrey; son, Johnny Autrey (Felicia) of Pensacola; granddaughter, Ava Rose Silvers; sister, Linda Frazier; brother-in-law, Ben Hollifield of Washington; and special friend, Jessie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday , June 3rd at the Eddie McMahan Cemetery. Rev. Skip Weiford will officiate.
