Adell Adkins Bradford, age 86, of the Cane River Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Linnie Williams Adkins. She is also preceded in death by a brother, C.A. Adkins; four sisters: Gay Brown, Vera Adkins and Ozella Banner, and infant, Onesa Adkins; as well as Ernest Bradford, the father of her children.
Adell lived her life modestly and was stubborn, gracious and kind. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed life, especially with family. She attended Marion Holiness Church and was strong in her faith. She also loved her animals, spending time with her family, and the Lord most of all. She left behind an extended family who will miss her dearly.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Pam Fender (Ronnie), Jeff Bradford, Jerry Bradford (Jennifer), and Becky Honeycutt (Jeff), all of Burnsville; grandchildren: Natasha Tabor (Jake), Justin Fender, Jennifer Bradford (Brad), Ashley Bradford, Keith Bradford (Ashley), Jaron Bradford (Kayla), Jessica Capps (Chris), Jonathan Bradford (Kyleigh), Jacob Bradford, and Vanessa Cooper; great-grandchildren: Brae, Alyssa, Cameron, Mason, Georgia, Madison, Makinley, Addilyn, Riley, and Grayson; and one brother, Hobert Adkins of Hickory. She is survived as well by numerous extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 19th, in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Pastor Nathan Wheeler and Pastor Lou Franklin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
