Sizzlin’ Summer Series – Resilient Families

mountains

This Saturday from 10am-noon celebrate deep roots and strong branches as Resources for Resilience hosts nature-themed crafts and stories during the Sizzlin’ Summer Series. Bring the whole family to the Burnsville Town Square for a morning of creativity, connection, and play perfect for families that are ready to blaze a trail to resilience!

Just as the forest and mountains stand strong, our families also have a natural ability to overcome challenges. Explore activity stations filled with nature-inspired arts, crafts, and stories that celebrate the strength within each of us. As you journey through each station, collect stamps on your Resilience Adventure Card and uncover simple tips to help your family grow stronger together!

The AMY Regional Library Bookmobile will be there, loaded with great reads about nature, family, resilience, and so much more —perfect for your summer reading list.

A program of Partners Aligned Toward Health, Healthy Yancey is a partnership of concerned citizens working together to improve the quality of health for all people in Yancey County. Healthy Yancey developed the Sizzlin’ Summer Series to promote connections between neighbors and people, increase physical activity, and create fun ways to play and be active in our community. Sizzlin’ Summer Series activities are appropriate for ALL ages and abilities and are completely FREE!

Thank you to Resources for Resilience for making this week’s event possible. We also appreciate the title sponsor AdventHealth, as well as the Town of Burnsville and Yancey County Government for their support and sponsorship which make the 2025 Sizzlin’ Summer Series possible.

This summer, you can also enjoy free pool days at the Burnsville Pool on July 10th and August 8th, courtesy of Healthy Yancey and Yancey County Government.
