Robert DeWitt Knowles, age 68 of Green Mountain, NC, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Born on July 28, 1956, he was the son of the late Thomas Eugene Knowles.
Robert spent his free time gardening and hunting, and enjoyed grilling with his family and riding motorcycles, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandkids and loved ones.
Robert dedicated 28 years of his life to serving as a police officer in the Miami Shores Village Police Department before retiring to the North Carolina mountains.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Polly Knowles; daughter, Christina (Alex) Johnson; mother, Janice Knowles; Grandchildren, Jake and Amelia Johnson; two brothers, Jeff (Cristy) Knowles and Tommy (Marcia) Knowles; and Sister, Norma (David) Poore.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and loved ones after the service for visitation. Pastor Burt Williams will be officiating.
