Peggy Yelton, age 77, of the Roaring Creek community went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21st, 2025. Peggy was the daughter of the late Aughtie and Pansy Thomas English Grindstaff.
Peggy was a wonderful Christian woman. She was an active member of The Peoples Church in Newland, who loved her Lord and Savior and her church family as well. She was an amazing wife and mother. Peggy loved to cook and get together with her family any chance she got. When she wasn’t in her flower garden then she was probably canning or feeding her birds that gave her so much joy.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 48 years, Bruce Yelton; her beloved sons: Chris Nance and Daniel Nance (Tabitha); grandsons: Hayden (Hannah), Christian and Jonathan Nance; brothers: Danny English (Jean) and Tony English (Lisa). A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday June 24th, in Roaring Creek Freewill Baptist Church at 1736 Roaring Creek Road Newland, NC 28657. Pastors Chris and Daniel Nance will officiate. Burial will follow in the Upper Hughes Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
