Scott Bradley Yelton

Scott Bradley Yelton, age 66, of Buladean crossed the finish line at Mission Hospital with his family by his side on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025.

He was born in Georgia to the late G.B. Yelton and the late Hazel Byrd Yelton.

Being a child of a military father, he lived many places, including Germany, but he made his home in Mitchell County. Along with his parents, his sister, Kimberly Williams also preceded him in death.

Scott or known as, ‘Hippie’ to many, was an avid drag racing mechanic. He enjoyed helping everyone, even if you were up against him at the starting line. He was a simple man who didn’t like to spend money. The fall was his favorite time of the year, making many trips across B&B road to Bad Creek to deer hunt. Scott cherished the times he could sit and talk with his family and friends. In May of 2019, Scott dedicated his life to the Lord and was Baptized in Jesus name. Reading his Bible and talking about the Lord became his life.

Surviving is his wife; Margaret Moffitt Yelton, his sons; Earl Yelton and wife, Jamie, Brandon Yelton and wife, Kacey, and Bradley Yelton; Grandchildren; Shelby Yelton, Korie Holtsclaw and husband, Josh, Jonathan Yelton and Kylie, Morgan Yelton (Jesse) and Madison Yelton, Emily, Josh, Kelsey. Great- Grandchildren; Grayson Rose and Judith Holtsclaw, brothers; David Yelton and wife, Jackie and Bill Tinker and wife, Sue, his beloved pets: Rascal and Gigi and Meow Meow; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Funeral service to honor Scott will be Monday, June 23rd, 2025 at Beans Creek Church of Jesus Christ at 5:00 pm with the Rev. G.B. Garland and Brother David Byrd will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow at Garland Cemetery on Bad Creek Road.
