Kaye Greene, age 80, of Burnsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, at her home.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Ada Bailey Cooper and stepfather, Jess Cooper. She was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Manning, and a brother-in-law, Dennis Woody.
Kaye worked with the Bantam Chef restaurant in town for over 28 years where most of her time was spent, but in her free time she loved going to thrift stores with her sisters. Wherever you saw Kaye out, you saw Eunice and Barbara with her. She also enjoyed shopping at Fresh Market and going out to eat.
Kaye never met a stranger and could always find something to talk about to everyone she met. She was of the Baptist faith and gave her life to the Lord as a young girl. Family was most important to her and she loved them all dearly.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, David Reid Greene of Burnsville; sisters: Eunice Woody of the Riverside Community, and Barbara Riddle and husband, Jerry, of Burnsville; granddaughter, Allison Greene; two great-grandchildren, and several other extended family.
Per her wishes, no services are planned. She will be laid to rest in the Cooper Cemetery.
