Dance, decorate cookies, and design your own robot this Saturday during the Sizzlin’ Summer Series! Come enjoy free activities for the whole family from 10am to noon on the Burnsville Town Square.
Spend a fun and exciting morning with Full Steam Ahead Carolina for a jam-packed, hands-on experience like no other! They’ll host a Mini Sumo Bot Competition that’s sure to bring out the inner engineer in kids and adults alike.
Try your hand at robotics as you modify, program, and drive a mini robot in an epic sumo-style showdown to see which bot comes out on top. Whether you’re brand new to robotics or a budding tech genius, this activity is fun for all ages and skill levels.
Not into battling robots? No problem! Stop by the LEGO free-play table or check out awesome demonstration bots in action. You’ll also get the chance to learn more about Full Steam Ahead Carolina’s exciting programs in STEM and robotics for kids and teens.
Stop by the RHA Health Services table to add even more fun to your day. Get your face painted or do the decorating your self at the cookie decorating station. Plus, you can move your feet and boogie in a high-energy REFIT® dance session! It’s all about fun, movement, and creativity for the whole family. Whether you’re driving robots, dancing, painting faces, or just stopping by for some fun, there’s something for everyone!
The Toe River Valley Regional Library Bookmobile will also be there so you can can find a summer read about robots, bakers, or anything in between!
A program of Partners Aligned Toward Health, Healthy Yancey is a partnership of concerned citizens working together to improve the quality of health for all people in Yancey County. Healthy Yancey developed the Sizzlin’ Summer Series to promote connections between neighbors and people, increase physical activity, and create fun ways to play and be active in our community. Sizzlin’ Summer Series activities are appropriate for ALL ages and abilities and are completely FREE!
