Registration is open now for Parkway Playhouse’s 2025/2026 Junior Programs! Parkway Playhouse is a teaching theatre. This means that education is the cornerstone of everything they do. From teaching future theatre professionals to nurturing interest from community members, the theatre offers classes, productions, and community events to help carry out this mission.

Beetlejuice JR is happening August 23-November 15, 2025, and is for ages 12-18. Based on the popular movie, this is a spooky, fun, and family-friendly musical about Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager who encounters a recently deceased couple and a mischievous demon named Beetlejuice. The musical explores themes of family, loss, and finding one’s voice, all with a healthy dose of humor and catchy songs. Directed by Jenny Martin, with music direction by Melanie Veazey, and choreography by Kelli Hall.

A Year With Frog and Toad KIDS is happening October 5-December 9, 2025, and is for ages 6-11. A musical adaptation of Arnold Lobel’s beloved Frog and Toad books, tailored for young audiences. The show follows the adventures of two best friends, the cheerful Frog and the sometimes grumpy Toad, as they experience the changing seasons. Through activities like planting a garden, sledding, and celebrating differences, they learn valuable lessons about friendship and enduring companionship. The musical features a jazzy, upbeat score and is known for its whimsical charm, making it a delightful experience for the whole family. Directed by Jaquie Campos, with music direction by Rachel O’Reilly, and choreography by Ariana Lawrence.

Hadestown: Teen Edition is happening December 13, 2025-April 25, 2026, and is for ages 14-18. This is a full-length adaptation of Anaïs Mitchell’s award-winning musical, Hadestown, tailored for performance by teen actors for family audiences. This version maintains the core narrative and music of the original, while making it suitable for younger performers. The story intertwines the Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone, exploring themes of love, doubt, and the human spirit’s resilience in the face of adversity. Directed by Jenny Martin, with music direction by Melanie Veazey, and choreography by Kelli Hall.

Alice in Wonderland JR is happening February 1-May 16, 2026, and is for ages 10-18. This show is a stage adaptation of the classic Disney animated film and Lewis Carroll’s stories, tailored for young performers. It follows Alice’s journey through the whimsical world of Wonderland after she falls down the rabbit hole. She encounters iconic characters like the White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, and Mad Hatter while trying to find her way home. Directed by Jaquie Campos, with music direction by Roberta Whiteside, and choreography by Morgen Gough.

Parkway Playhouse Power Chords is happening on Monday from 5:30-6:30pm, and is for ages 11-18. This is an exciting new teen show choir group at the theater, taught by Melanie Veazey.

Private Voice Lessons are happening September 2025 through May 2026, and will be offered on a flexible schedule.
