Gregory Steven Robinson, age 67, of the Pleasant Gap Community, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25th, 2025, at the Charles George V.A. Medical Center in Asheville. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Thomas Robinson, Jr. and June Thomas Robinson.
Gregory proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, and participated for years in the Colonel John B. Palmer Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans SCV #379. He was an avid history buff and a rock hound as well. He enjoyed playing video games and riding scooters with the kids. Gregory was loved by so many of his adopted family who will always cherish memories made with him and hold them close in their hearts.
He is survived by his adopted family: Sean Joseph Bulluck and wife, Ashley, of Boone; along with Dawson, Bentley, Kayla, Shiane, Dakota, Michael, Anthony and Dylan; uncle, Dean Thomas; 14 cousins: Jerry Garland, Sandy Smith, Sharon Hughes, Sheila Evans, Michael Thomas, Steven Thomas, Marva Thomas, Debbie Thomas, Jimmy Robinson, Patsy Harrison, Anthony Robinson, Frank Robinson, Jeff Thomas and Jeanne Oates; as well as two good friends: Michael Ledford and Kevin Hoilman. He is also survived by a host of numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 31st in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Chaplain John Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter #57 D.A.V.
