Jack Hughes, age 91, of the Windom community went Home to be with the Lord while surrounded by his loving family on August 2nd, 2025. Jack was a son of the late Fonz and Frances Bailey Hughes. He is also proceeded in death by three brothers, six sisters and a son, Tony Hughes.
Jacks ability to give without expecting anything in return was unparalleled. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or simply being there for those in need, he exemplified the power of love and generosity. His heart was as vast as his smile, and his commitment to doing good was boundless. Jack was a member of Windom Methodist Church since 1963 and loved his Lord and church family very dearly.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 72 years, Thelma Styles Hughes; sons: Derek Hughes (Debbie) and Brett Hughes (Rachel); daughter-in-law, Pat Hughes; grandchildren: T.J. Hughes, Dakota Hughes (Christie), Kiana Hughes, Samantha Duncan (Austin) and Shane Murphy (Julie); great-grandchild, Scarlett Hughes; Jack is also survived by four brothers and one sister, along with several nieces and nephews.
In honor of Jacks memory, we ask that you continue his legacy by living in a way that mirrors his spirt, offering your time, your care, and your energy to those around you, without expectation or reward. Jack believed that the greatest gift we can give is to help others simply because it is the right thing to do. Let us all carry this lesson forward, spreading kindness wherever we go.
