AdventHealth is holding a Community Listening Session in Yancey County on August 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Yancey County Senior Center, inviting residents to help shape the future of health care in Western North Carolina.
The event is part of a regional effort that includes sessions in Buncombe, Madison, and Graham counties, aimed at gathering public input and sharing updates on the proposed expansion of a not-for-profit hospital in Buncombe County. The initiative supports the upcoming application to add 129 acute care beds to the approved hospital site in Weaverville, bringing the total to 222 beds., improving access to acute, whole-person care across the region.
Attendees can view hospital design plans, offer feedback, and submit letters of support. AdventHealth leaders say local voices have already played a vital role in securing state approval for earlier stages of the project.
