The Mitchell County Economic Development Commission (EDC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Mitchell County native Marley Cloer as its new Digital Marketing Specialist.

A graduate of Mitchell High School, Cloer went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a concentration in Digital and Visual Marketing from the University of Tennessee. Her new role with the EDC will focus on strengthening digital outreach, expanding the EDC’s online presence, and supporting the mission and strategies of the EDC.

Cloer’s position is made possible through the support of the NCWorks program, which partners with local organizations to develop workforce opportunities and connect talented individuals with roles that strengthen their communities.

“We are excited to welcome Marley to our team,” said Bill Slagle, Executive Director of the Mitchell County EDC. “As a Mitchell County native with a strong educational background in digital marketing, she brings both the skills and the passion needed to tell the story of Mitchell County and the Economic Development Commission in fresh and engaging ways. Her work will be instrumental in helping us showcase the many opportunities our county has to offer.”

Cloer expressed her enthusiasm for returning home to contribute to the growth of the community where she was raised. “I am excited to begin my role with the Mitchell County EDC. I look forward to using my skills and contributing to the important work being done in the community.”
