The Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrated the grand opening of its new office and welcome center with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, August 29, 2025. Community members, Chamber partners, board members and local leaders gathered at 208 Oak Avenue in downtown Spruce Pine to officially welcome the Chamber into its new space.

The new office, located in the heart of downtown Spruce Pine, provides expanded opportunities for the Chamber to connect with businesses, members, and visitors. The move allows the Chamber to better serve as a hub for business referrals, support services, member events, and community engagement.

“We love being in this new space and having the opportunity to welcome members, businesses, and visitors,” said Chamber Executive Director Bill Slagle. “Already, we’ve seen an increase in foot traffic, which means we are able to share information about our Chamber members with even more people. This move is a win for our businesses and our community.”

Nikki Presnell, President of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, also shared her excitement about the move: “This new location provides great access and visibility, making it easier for us to serve both our members and visitors. It’s wonderful to see the energy and growth this space is already bringing to our work, and we look forward to all the opportunities ahead.”

The Chamber also expressed gratitude to the Amy Wellness Foundation for their support and partnership of the new Chamber office.

The Chamber invites the public to stop by the new office to learn more about local businesses, upcoming events, ways to connect with the Chamber and opportunities to get involved in the economic and community development of Mitchell County.
