Mike Pressley, age 75, of Creek Side Court in Spruce Pine, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.
Born on December 9, 1949 in Haywood County, he was the son of the late James and Lura Ammons Pressley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters; Anna Mae Howell, Ina Vee Stowe, Bety Sue Parker and Doris Privette.
Mike was a member of the Altapass Baptist Church and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement he was employed by Ethan Allen Furniture and later by Wal-Mart in Spruce Pine. He loved Bluegrass Music and playing his banjo. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and he also loved cooking.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Ann Pressley of Spruce Pine, his daughters; Cindy Ward and husband, Steve of Bakersville and Angie Waycaster of Spruce Pine, his sister; Jimmie Singleton of Canton and his brothers; Tex Pressley and wife Nancy, Tony Pressley and wife, Janet and Sam Pressley and wife, Wanda all of Haywood County, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mike Pressley will be Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Sisk officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Altapass Baptist Church Cemetery at McKinney Gap with military honors provided by Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter 57 D.A.V.
