Rhonda Crawford Valls, age 59, of Buladean, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 14th, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center. Born in Hopewell, Virginia, she was a daughter of Ethel Louise Gouge Crawford and the late Ralph Edward Crawford. She was preceded in death as well by her biological grandfather, Edger Crawford; maternal grandparents, Brown and Lonnie Gouge; paternal grandparents, Luther and Myrtle Ingram; and mother-in-law, Marion Valls.
Rhonda enjoyed reading her Bible and loved being a huge part of her church at Middle District Freewill Baptist Church. She also enjoyed doing crafts and working in her flowers at home, and loved decorating her home for each season of the year and holidays. She found peace sitting on her porch and looking out over God’s creation. More importantly, she loved taking care of her family, and especially loved being a Mamaw to her grandchildren. God and family were the most important parts of her life, and the love she shared with them will be missed but never forgotten.
In addition to her mother, Ethel Louise Gouge Crawford of Buladean, she is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, David Valls of Buladean; two sons: D.J. Valls (Becky) of Buladean and Anthony Valls (Olivia) of Ledger; three grandchildren: Alyssa Valls, Trey Valls and Gabby Bryant; and sister, Deborah Tomack (Jeff) of Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 20th at Middle District Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Blaine Whitson and Rev. Trent Honeycutt will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ingram Cemetery on Broad Branch Road in Buladean. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, September 19th at Middle District Freewill Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
