On Wednesday, September 24th, 2025, God came and took Kathy Jo Roesch Barrett, age 77, to her heavenly home at 7:14 a.m.
Born on April 7th, 1948, she was a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, and was a daughter of her late parents, Kenneth and Jacqueline Nall Roesch. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie K. Barrett.
Kathy was a remarkable woman, whose strength and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a survivor, having bravely overcome cancer and tumors throughout her life. Her unwavering spirit and determination were a testament to her character. As a registered nurse, she dedicated many years of her life to caring for others. Her love for her work and for people shone brightly through her actions. She touched countless lives with her compassion and dedication, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her big heart was evident to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love for her family was equally profound. She and her husband shared a bond that she wished to stand the test of time through their children and great-grandchildren. This great love, like a beacon, will continue to shine brightly and will never be diminished. It will live on in the hearts and memories of those who were fortunate enough to be part of their lives. In honor of her legacy and the indelible mark she left on this world, we will all remember Her strength, compassion, and love. Let us carry forward her spirit and continue to be inspired by the incredible life she led.
She is survived by her husband of over 54 wonderful years, Mark Joseph Barrett; a son, David Alan (Ashley) Barrett of NC; a brother, Kenneth (Anita) Roesch of Fowlers Bluff, FL; sisters: Susan Wells of Burnsville, Janet (Bob) Kohne of Floral City, FL, and Rosemary (Terry) Hodge of Floral City, FL; grandchildren: Kenneth, Dawson, Davin, Chloe, Kurt, and Olivia; six great-grandchildren with one on the way; a brother-in-law, James Proctor; three sisters-in-law: Patricia (Steve) Lorrance, Edith Keller, and Laverne Swank; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
