Bobbie Blevins Mosley, age 74, of Piney Heaven Drive in Bakersville, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Zode Ollis Blevins. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Ben Mosley Jr., who passed away in 2011; their daughter, Lorrie Mosley, who passed away in 2014; infant great-granddaughter, Ellie Grace Newton who passed away in 2023; and a brother, Douglas “Doug” Blevins who passed away in 2005.
Bobbie worked as a seamstress making Levi jeans at both Randalman in Tipton Hill for a number of years, followed by Taylor Togs in Micaville. Nothing made her happier than mowing her lawn which she was still doing up until 3 weeks ago. She also enjoyed her time outside doing weedeating and working in her flowers. Time for relaxing was spent sitting on her porch in her rocking chair. When indoors, she enjoyed watching cooking shows and true crime on television. Bobbie represented everything a perfect homemaker and mother should be, and leaves her family with so many wonderful memories spent at her house.
Her love continues on through a daughter, Leslie Newton (Mark) of Bakersville; two grandchildren: Sarah Newton of Virginia, and Seth Newton (Nicole) of Bakersville; two great-granddaughters: Lydia Newton and Nicole Catherine Ely; a great-grandson, Lucas Ray Ely; sister, Betty Blevins (Bruce) of Bakersville; brother, Billy Blevins (Lois) of Bakersville; sister-in-law, Barbara Blevins; and niece, Melissa Blevins of Bakersville. Several other extended family also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. GB Garland and Mark Newton will officiate. Private burial will follow in the Grassy Creek Baptist Church Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Seth Newton, Mark Newton, Bruce Blevins, Billy Blevins, Jonathan Rea, and Michael Buchanan. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge for the wonderful care given to Bobbie.
