Robert L. “Rob” Owens, Jr., age 59, of Burnsville, NC, passed away quietly at the home of a friend on Sunday, October 5th, 2025. Born May 3rd, 1966, in Chattanooga, TN, he was the son of Robert L. Owens, Sr. (Carol) and Billie Ramsey Lang (Jack), both of Bakersville, NC. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carri Lynn Owens St. Germain (Michael) of Bakersville.
Rob was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a fan of NASCAR, a music lover, and an accomplished rock guitarist.
Rob leaves behind a daughter, Madison Leigh Owens Chipps (Joshua) and a young granddaughter of Denver, NC; sister, Stephanie Elise Owens of Wake Forest, NC; stepsisters: Ruth Anne Lawrence Meek (Ken) of St. Marys, GA, Kim Perkins of Mocksville, NC, and Heather Lang of Cartersville, GA, as well as many extended family and friends.
The family will hold a private service and reception at their home. Those wishing to honor Rob’s memory may do so by sending thoughts and prayers, or through memorial donations to a charity of their choice.
