Thomas Leonard Edge, 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 7, 2025.
Born on January 21, 1950, in Micaville, Tommy’s life was defined by his faith in God, his love for family, and his joy in the outdoors. For over 50 years, he devotedly loved and stood by his beloved wife, Libby, through life’s joys and challenges. He was a proud father to Jason and Josh and adored his grandchildren, Carter, Elizabeth, Landon, and Sarah.
Tommy was known for his generous spirit and commitment to the church. He served with distinction as a Deacon for over 10 years at Crabtree Baptist Church and later provided faithful leadership as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church for more than 30 years. He found joy in the simple things—being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and sharing those moments with family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and integrity that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Gaston Edge and Marie Boone Edge. He is survived by his wife, Libby; his children and their spouses, Jason and Wendy, Josh and Ashley; his grandchildren, Carter, Elizabeth, Landon, and Sarah; his sister and her husband, Janie and Ray Mayberry; and many dear friends and extended family.
A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Statesville, NC, on October 12, 2025, with receiving of friends from 5:00–6:00 p.m., followed by the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.
