Featuring Parkway Playhouse students, this show follows Lydia Deetz, a quirky teenager fascinated with death, who moves into a haunted house inhabited by the recently deceased couple, Adam and Barbara Maitland. When Lydia accidentally summons the mischievous bio-exorcist Beetlejuice, chaos ensues as he tries to teach the Maitlands how to scare the living, leading to hilarious and spooky situations. Through her interactions with Beetlejuice, Lydia must confront her grief and learn to embrace the strange and unusual aspects of life and death.
“Our students are having so much fun with this production and we can’t wait for you to come see it!”, says director Jenny Martin. “From the moody set to the spooky costumes to the over the top acting, this show is the perfect show to close out the Halloween season!”. Parkway Playhouse is also excited to offer a Beetlejuice-themed bake sale this fall! This will take place in the lobby of the theatre during performances of Beetlejuice JR on November 14th and 15th and is a wonderful way for folks to get involved at Parkway Playhouse, to raise a little extra support for the theater, and share some spooky-sweet treats with the community.
