Municipal elections are set for Tuesday, November 4th in Mitchell and Yancey counties.
In Bakersville, the ballot lists Charles E. Vines Sr. as the only candidate for mayor. Voters will also choose two town council members from among Gary Hyatt, Andy Palmer, Matthew Staton, and Perry Wilson.
In Spruce Pine, Beth Holmes is unopposed for mayor, while Larry McKinney and Tessa Taylor are listed for the two open council seats.
In Burnsville, the ballot shows Mayor T. Russell Fox running unopposed for re-election. Voters there will also select two town council members. Randy Ollis and Bill Wheeler are on the ticket.
All three towns hold nonpartisan elections, and each ballot provides space for write-in candidates. Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
