Betty Louise Silvers

Betty Louise Silvers, age 86 of Burnsville, NC, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at her home where she was surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Yancey County, she was born on May 9, 1939, to the late Sylvester and Pearl Burnett Styles. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jackie Silvers Bassford; brothers: Dave, Jack, Frank, and Gene Styles; and her sister, Edna Dixon.

Betty was a faithful member of Peterson’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Burnsville, NC, for 35 years. Her strong faith and dedication to her church family were evident in every aspect of her life. She will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to her loved ones, and her gentle spirit.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 67 years, Clifford Silvers; her son, Lyn (Stormi) Silvers of Hickory, NC; and her daughter, Gayla (Philip) Hughes of Burnsville; grandchildren: Adam (Jessica) Silvers of Burnsville, Danny Bassford and Chris Bassford, both of Clearwater, FL, Mason Hughes, and Hollie Hughes, both of Burnsville; great-grandchildren: Haleigh Silvers and Bryson Silvers; and a sister, Peggy Silvers of Burnsville; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Silvers Family Cemetery on Silvers Hill Road in Burnsville, NC. The service will be officiated by Pastor Terry Jones, with a message by Reverend Phillip Hughes. Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Silvers family.
