Join NC High Peaks for a hike on the Hawksbill Mountain Trail on Friday, November 7 on an outing that should provide incredible, 360-degree views of the Linville Gorge, Pisgah National Forest and Table Rock.
The hike is a moderately challenging 2-3 mile trek with approximately 700 feet of elevation gain and some steep rocky sections. It should take approximately two hours to complete.
We will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the Park-and-Ride lot at the intersection of 19E and Hwy 80 North, which is one mile east of the Micaville Loop. From there we will carpool for the one-hour drive to the trailhead. The access road to the trailhead is a bit rough so high clearance vehicles may be helpful.
Bring water, snacks and/or lunch, sturdy hiking shoes as well as hiking poles if you use them. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome, but please bring water and poop bags for your pooch.
Contact hike leader Diane Schramm at (904) 349-0479 with questions and to let her know you are coming.
