Sheila Buchanan Ellis, age 70, of Little Henson Creek Road in Newland, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025 at Emerald Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Asheville.
Born on August 7, 1955 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Lillian Wise Buchanan.
Sheila was a member of the Beaver Creek Baptist Church. She served as a DATA analyst with Duke Power in Charlotte for over twenty years. She was an animal lover who was particularly fond of dogs and cats, the most special one was her dog, Mollie. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, watching T.V., spending time with her family and enjoyed a good meal with great food to be shared by everyone.
Left to cherish her memories are her sister; Sandy Long of Newland, her niece; Cassie Forbes and husband, Mark and their daughter, Lillie of Pineola, her nephew; Adam Long and wife, Jessica and their children, Ryder and Taylor of Newland.
A funeral service will be on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Kegan Hoilman officiating. Interment will be in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
