James William ‘Jim’ Rumfelt, age 75, of Spruce Pine passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.
Born on September 4, 1950 in McDowell County, he was the son of the late Charlie William and Mae Finley Rumfelt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Rumfelt. Also preceding him in death were his sons; Joe Rumfelt and Jeremy Rumfelt and his brother; Ernest Rumfelt.
Mr. Rumfelt worked many years as a truck driver for Ethan Allen Furniture and later worked for Waycaster Stone in Marion. He never met a stranger and loved to talk.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter; Lisa Padgham and husband, John of Old Fort, his sister; Mickey Sawyer of Marion, his sister-in-law; Tina Burleson of Spruce Pine, his brother-in-law; Dickie Burleson and wife, Sandy of Spruce Pine, and his nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say “Thank You” to Tina Burleson, Roy Buchanan, and Greg Bost for their care and friendship.
