Wesley Clark, known by many as “Uncle Wes”, age 85, passed away at home on Thursday, December 4th, 2025, surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Romer and Ethel Clark; his wife of 58 years, Kathleen Beam Clark; brothers, Raymond and Jack Clark; and sister, Gustine Davis.
Born in Harper Creek, he spent most of his life in the Jonas Ridge Community. Even though he retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture and Burke Solid Waste, he first learned the shrubbery trade as a young boy.
He was part of a huge, loving family that includes several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he loved very much.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Deborah Clark Greene; son, James Wesley Clark and his wife, Verna; grandchildren: Brandee Harrison (Randall Rounds), Auby Harrison (Bethany Bare), Jessica Clark (W.L. Winebarger), and J.W. Clark; great-grandchildren: D.J. Winebarger, Kyndsey and Maizee Grace Rounds, Julius Harrison and Ariel Banner; brothers: Larry and Troy (Bette) Clark; and sisters: Kathie Clark, Laura Henderson, Sadie Whittaker and Lila Whittington.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9th at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Newland.
Family and friends will gather at the Kawana Cemetery for words of goodbye on Wednesday, December 10th at 11 a.m.
Pallbearers will be J.W. Clark, W.L. Winebarger, David Clark, Darrell Clark, Ryan Richardson, Randall Rounds, and honorary pallbearer, D.J. Winebarger.
