Blue Ridge Regional Hospital (BRRH) is proud to announce it recently presented a $2,000 donation to Mitchell County SafePlace, a local non-profit dedicated to providing safety and resources to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The donation highlights BRRH’s mission to support the full health and well-being of the community, which extends beyond clinical care. The funds will directly support SafePlace’s essential operations, including its emergency shelter, counseling services, and advocacy programs for individuals and families in crisis.

“At Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, our commitment to the health of our community goes far beyond treating illness. We recognize that true well-being requires a safe and supportive environment, and that is precisely what Mitchell County SafePlace provides,” said Dr. Tonia W. Hale, CEO/CNO of Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. “We are honored to invest this $2,000 in an organization that offers such critical, life-saving services to our neighbors. This partnership ensures that when our community members are in their most vulnerable moments, they have a place of refuge and hope.”

Mitchell County SafePlace plays a vital role in the region, offering a confidential and secure haven for those escaping dangerous situations.

BRRH remains dedicated to supporting local organizations that address the holistic needs of the community, improving overall quality of life and safety for all residents.

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital (BRRH) announced a significant investment in the prosperity of Mitchell County, presenting a check for $7,500 to the Mitchell County Development Foundation (MCDF).

The donation underscores the hospital’s commitment to improving not just the clinical health, but also the overall economic and cultural vitality of the mountain community it serves.

“In our role as the hometown hospital for Mitchell County, we recognize that true community health extends beyond our clinical walls,” said Hale. “The Mitchell County Development Foundation plays a critical role in strengthening the foundation of our local area. By supporting MCDF, we are investing directly in the future of the place our patients, staff, and neighbors call home.”

The Mitchell County Development Foundation was established in June of 2001 with the mission of establishing economic and cultural assistance in Mitchell County. The organization works to attract new businesses, support local enterprises, and enhance the quality of life for all residents.

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital continues to serve as a leading healthcare provider while actively seeking ways to engage and strengthen the local community.
