Allie Delthia Stevens, age 88, of Green Mountain, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 12th, 2025. Born on August 24, 1937, in Yancey County, Allie was a lifelong resident of the community she loved so dearly. She was the daughter of the late Burdette Gortney and Eva Gortney (Beaver). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd Stevens; her sister, Ethel Gortney; and her daughter, Wedie Robinson.
A devoted homemaker, Allie dedicated her life to caring for her family, her home, and those around her. She was known for her love of cooking, canning, and flowers, and she found great joy in tending to her family and home.
Allie was a woman of deep faith and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for many years. She was also a certified nursing assistant (CNA) earlier in life and was remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family fiercely.
Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Johnny Gortney of Newton, NC; her son-in-law, Dale Robinson of Newdale; her grandson, Buddy (Brandy) Robinson of Green Mountain; her great-grandchildren, Alan, Chase, and Colby; her sisters-in-law, Lois Blankenship of South Toe; her nieces: Patricia Gortney and Georgia Ann Gortney, both of Green Mountain; and many cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held at Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. and continuing until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15th, 2025. The funeral service will be held the following day on Tuesday, December 16th, at 12:00 p.m. The pallbearers will be as follows: Teddy Boone, Dustin Boone, Dale Robinson, Georgia Ann Gortney and Patricia Ann Gortney. Interment will follow in the family cemetery located at her home place in Green Mountain.
