Sheila Masters Bullis

Sheila Masters Bullis, age 78 of the Bee Branch Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, at her surrounded by her family. She was a daughter of the late Charles “CB” and Gladys Brewer Masters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Mary Lou Bartley, Nancy Taylor and Billie Jo Cross; and brothers: Lloyd and Jack Masters.

Sheila worked as a medical coder and transcriber for many years. She had a strong work ethic and was always on the move. She rarely sat still choosing instead to stay busy in service to others. She attended Peasant Grove Brethren Church and was and a faithful follower of Christ. She possessed a true servant’s heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Sheila was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt. She cherished her family and found her greatest joy in time spent with each of them. Known for her outgoing and friendly nature, Sheila greeted everyone with warmth and kindness and was actively involved in the community she loved so deeply.

Left to cherish Sheila’s memory is her loving husband of 33 years, Robert “Bob” Bullis; sons: Greg Whitson (Lori) of Bluffton, NC, Bret Bullis (Nickole) of Spruce Pine, NC and Brian Bullis (Mitzi) of Bakersville, NC; grandchildren: Madison and Ansley Whitson, Mason, Nate, Samuel and Garrett Bullis; brother, Charles Burnie Jr. of Macon, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 27th, 2025 in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Doug Harrell and Rev. John Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Masters Family Cemetery off of Bee Branch Road in Bakersville, NC. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the funeral services at the church. Pallbearers will be: Garrett, Mason and Nate Bullis, Joel Stevenson, Scott Graham and Jeff Masters.
