Glen Ledford, age 69, of the Bald Mountain Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 29th, 2025 at his home.
A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Rev. Gus and Sylvia Angel Ledford. He was also preceded in death by sisters: Mabel Getz, Opal Grant and Pauline Pigg; and a brother, Rev. James Ledford.
Glen was the happiest when he was in the woods bear or deer hunting. He loved digging ginseng, fishing in the gorge, working in his garden every year, and working with his bees. Most of all, he loved his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Teresa Ledford; daughter, Crystal Webb (Scott) of Burnsville; grandchildren: Nathanael Webb (Portia), Chad Webb and Briella Webb, all of Burnsville; one great-grandchild; sisters: Faye Smith of Lake Lure, Ruth Gibbs (Donald Parker) of Polk County, Magdalene Horseman of Baltimore, MD, and Maude Wilson (Mike) of Mill Springs; brothers: Hiram Ledford (Tammy), Sam Ledford and Frank Ledford (Linda), all of Burnsville. Numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 2nd, 2026 in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Austin Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ledford Cemetery in Bald Mountain.
