Carolyn ‘Carol’ Hoilman Pendley

Carolyn ‘Carol’ Hoilman Pendley, age 71, of Beaver Creek Road in Spruce Pine, went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2026 at Amorem Health in Valdese.

Born on June 22, 1954 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Corny and Grace Yelton Hoilman. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Hyder, who she never got over, her sisters; Louise Burleson and Helen Hoilman, her brothers; Bruce, J.C., Bob, Arthur, Edward and Ronnie Hoilman.

Carol loved spending time with her great-grandchildren, being outside, working with her flowers, watching her birds, and wildlife. Carol’s heart was as big as her beautiful smile.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of thirty-five years; Randy Pendley of the home, her son; Scotty Stevens and wife, Kristal, step-daughter; Brandy Buchanan, her grandchildren; Haley Mathis, Tim ‘Bubba Hyder, and Isabel Mathis, her great grandchildren; Olivia and Elijah Mathis and Journey Hyder, her sisters; Dorothy Stevens and husband, Roger, Betty Wade of West Virginia, her brother; Wayne Hoilman, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Carol Pendley will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Alvin Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery on John Sparks Road in Bakersville.

The family would like to extend a ‘Thanks’ to everyone that prayed for Carol during her illness. She will be missed by all. She is now happy in Heaven with her daughter, Michelle.
