Virginia Allen McKinney Vilichka, age 91, of Zachary Ridge in Asheville, formerly of Spruce Pine, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.
Born on March 14, 1934 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Eula Robinson Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis McKinney who passed away in 1987 and later her second husband, Richard Vilichka who passed away in 2024. Also preceding her in death was her sister; Gladys Wilson and her brothers; Lambert and Edward Allen.
Virginia was a member of the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. She loved her cats, gardening, sewing and quilting.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Debra Warren and husband, Donnie of Simpsonville, SC, Jo Ann Uphold of Spruce Pine and Susan Hollifield of Little Switzerland, her son; Greg McKinney of Ledger, her sister; Louise Renfro of Spruce Pine, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two deceased grandchildren.
The funeral service for Virginia Vilichka will be on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church with the Rev’s Greg Burnette and Matt Woody officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Burnett Cemetery.
