Kimberly Dawn Boone, 56, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Born in Burnsville, she was the daughter of Banner Ray and Shirley Ann Boone.
Kimberly worked as a Nurse and Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner and was known for her caring, generous, loving, and compassionate spirit.
She is survived by her wife, Eva Hardesty; daughter Lynnlee and son-in-law Edwin Wotortsi; grandchildren Weston and Ada; sister Kay and brother-in-law John Caterson; nephew Nicholas (April); and niece Ciera (Isaac), along with a great-nephew, Cruz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Young’s Chapel Baptist Church, Burnsville, NC, or the Rathbun Center, Asheville, NC.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses, doctors, and respiratory therapists of the MICU at Mission Hospital for their exceptional care.
