Katherine Thomas, 83, passed away on January 19, 2026 at her home in Bakersville, NC.
Kitty, as she was known was born on August 08, 1942 in Mountain City, TN to the late Joe and Maude Combs Wilson.
She and her husband Dwight owned and operated the Thomas Grocery for many years and was a member of the Little Rock Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed shopping and going to the beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Thomas; siblings, RL Wilson, Helen Bartlett and Bill Wilson.
Kitty is survived by her children Joe (Ann) Thomas of Spruce Pine; Gerald (Carrie) Thomas of Cleveland, VA, Gregory Thomas of Bakersville, NC; Three grandchildren, Chloe, Shelby and Danny.
The family would like to thank Jim and Tomesa Miles for the loving care and being there with them through everything.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 23, 2026 in the Major Cemetery with Rev. Keith Beck officiating.
