The following announcement as been approved by Yancey County Emergency Management and County Manager for release:
Yancey County Alert: Yancey County Emergency Management has issued a proclamation declaring a State of Emergency, including the Town of Burnsville, effective Friday, January 23, at 8 a.m. This declaration is in response to the imminent threat of severe infrastructure damage from heavy snow and ice accumulations. All residents are urged to finalize preparations immediately and comply with emergency guidance.
