George Wilson

With a sad heart, we announced the passing of George A Wilson. George has been sick for a long time after having two strokes. We think God felt like he had suffered long enough. He passed quietly in his sleep.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 32 years, Shirl Riddle Wilson; a son, Chet Chubonie of California; a daughter, Natasha Cucumber of Cherokee, North Carolina;  grandchildren: Mattie Brockwell of South Carolina and Layla Cucumber of Cherokee, North Carolina, Deker Chubonie and Dana Chubonie, both of California; one great-granddaughter, McKinley Long of South Carolina; great grandson, Luke Haynes; and one brother, Danny Jackson (Daniel) of Asheville, North Carolina.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 1st, 2026 in the Wilson Cemetery on Bagwell Drive in the Pensacola area.  Chaplain Andy Willis will officiate.

A big thank you goes out to the Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge for the wonderful care they gave George. A special CNA he liked so much and always joked with is Sandy, RN and also thank you to Brandon Braggs.
