
The North Carolina State Board of Elections is reminding the public, the deadline to register to vote ahead of North Carolina’s 2026 primary election is this Friday at 5 p.m.
Primary Election Day is Tuesday, March 3. To be eligible to register and vote in North Carolina you must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, and a North Carolina resident who has lived in your precinct for at least 30 days before the election. Voters must also not be serving a felony sentence in jail, prison, or on parole.
Same-day voter registration will be available during early voting, running February 12 through February 28. Voters using same-day registration must bring a valid photo ID and proof of residence.
