Donnie Walter Cook, age 68, of Pineola Community, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 30th, 2026. He was the son of the late Walter and Martha McKinney Cook. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Trina Denise Moody Cook.
Donnie was a member of Open-Door Baptist Church where he attended for many years and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter of both deer and rabbit. Donnie also loved spending time with his horse “Pretty.” Above all Donnie was a devoted family man, a wonderful husband and father. He married the love of his life Trina, in 1981 and still cherished their time spent together after her passing in 2023.
Left to cherish Donnie’s memory is his daughter, Julie Cook Hopson and husband John of Pineola; a host of very special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026 at Open Door Baptist Church. Pastor Tommy Carver and Speaker Ryan Maltba will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. prior to the funeral services at the church. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 12th, 2026 in the Daniel Cemetery located on Squirrel Creek Road.
