James Michael Serafini

James Michael Serafini, 74, of Burnsville, gently entered eternal rest on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the beloved son of the late James and Flora Scokas Serafini. He was also reunited in peace with his sister, Loretta Zahn and his brother, Bobby Serafini.

To know James was to love him. A faithful member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, he lived anchored in his faith, which shaped his heart and guided his steps. James viewed life as a sacred pilgrimage; one to be embraced with courage, curiosity and gratitude. Each day was met with joy and his bright and fun personality reflected the beauty of the world.

James loved deeply and generously, pouring his heart into his family and friends, whom he held close and dear. Music stirred his spirit as well as the open road on his motorcycle. Both offered freedom and quiet reflection to James. Through his huge smile and a fearless spirit, James lived life fully and faithfully.

“He made the world a better place and everyone James was close with will miss him and his smile terribly.”

His light lives on in those he loved most: his children: Amanda Bosserman (Justin) and Matthew Serafini; his cherished granddaughter, Mia Serafini, all of Lincoln, California; his sister, Beckie Serafini of Burnsville; and his brother, Gerry Serafini of West Bloomfield Township, Michigan.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
