Anita Faye McFalls, 62, of Spruce Pine, NC passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of the late Earnest Franklin and Mary Elizabeth McFalls.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Sandra Darlene McFalls and a brother, David McFalls.
Anita was a very kind hearted person with a loving gentle spirit, she was a friend to many and a very loving mother and was very devoted to her family and her fiancé. She loved helping people, antiques, being outside in God’s creation and was a really good cook and baker.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Ashley (Samuel) Shook of Bakersville; brother, Larry McFalls of Spruce Pine; fiancé’ Dirk Bunnell of Bakersville; additional family members include, Millie (Calvin) Lunsford, Donna (Tim) Collis, Trevor (Kelly) Collis, along with many special cousins and friends; and her constant companions, her cats Benny and Tigger.
Funeral services for Anita will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at the Snow Hill Baptist Church in Bakersville. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 at the church, with the service to follow. Rev. Dean Honeycutt will officiate. Interment will follow in the Tolley Cemetery.
