The Mitchell County Historical Society, after a 5-year gap, the successful annual History Bee returns on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Mitchell County Middle School. Thanks to a generous donation from the Quartz Corp and donations from others in the community, we can provide cash prizes in two divisions: Middle School (Grades 6–8) and High School (Grades 9–12). All students in those grade levels in Mitchell County are invited to participate and are encouraged to work with their history teachers to prepare for the event. They will be provided with books from which the questions will be taken, and all will receive a free T-shirt. Parents, families, and community members are cordially invited to attend.
