Jonathan Joe Capps, age 49, of Burnsville, North Carolina, passed away on March 5, 2026, in Burnsville. Jonathan was born on December 24, 1976, to the late D. Joe Capps and Frances Jackson Capps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Shane Capps, and his aunt, Brenda Lynch.
Jonathan was a creative and thoughtful person who enjoyed many hobbies. He loved playing his guitar, spending time playing video games, creating artwork, tie-dyeing, and working on puzzles and board games. He attended NC State and the NC School of Science and Mathematics and had a deep appreciation for creativity and learning. Jonathan cherished time with his family and those close to him.
He is survived by his loving family, including his uncle, Fred Capps Jr. (Evelyn) of Burnsville; Edward Franklin Capps (Debra) of Chaparral, New Mexico; and his aunts, Martha Matthews of Asheville and English Capps Weston. He also leaves behind special friends Michele Havlin, Echo, Shay Zimmerman, and Kale Havlin, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews, and his beloved fur baby, Salty. Extended family members will remember him with love.
A graveside service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Allen Cemetery in the Pensacola Community. Rev. Ray Stickland will officiate.
