Timothy “Tim” Dale Byrd

Timothy “Tim” Dale Byrd, age 58, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 9th, 2026 with his Son and Father by his side. He was a native of Hickory, NC and the son to Roger Byrd and Brenda Sue Webb. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Luther and Veo Byrd; and his maternal grandparents, Charles and Louise Webb.

Tim will be remembered as a man who truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time on the golf course and rarely missed the chance to watch his beloved North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball play. When he wasn’t following a game Tim could often be found outdoors, enjoying nature, casting a line while fishing or simply soaking in the peace of the great outdoors.

More than anything, Tim’s greatest joy in life was his family. He especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, who meant the world to him. His grandson, Brighton held a very special place in his heart and Tim took great pride and joy in watching him grow.

Left to cherish the memory of Tim is his father, Roger Byrd (Shelia); his mother, Brenda Sue Webb; Tim’s two sons: Brandon Byrd (Betty) and Timothy Eric Byrd; his cherished grandchildren: Addison and Haley Adams, Brighton, Zane, Owen and Noah Byrd, Caroline and Evelyn; sisters: Kristin Leigh Byrd and Sherea Lynn Krause (Michael); step-sisters: Kimberly Dawn Lingereflet (Todd) and Heather Smart (David); step-brother, Joshua Davis (Hope); special uncle, Ronnie Byrd; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. The Rev. Paul Grindstaff and Rev. Wayne Brittian officiating. Graveside Services will be held following the funeral services in the Byrd Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the funeral home to help the Byrd family with the funeral expenses. To send online condolences, please visit:  www.yanceyfuneralservice.com
